Allensworth celebrates Women’s History Month by honoring women in the construction industry. With a well-balanced team and a woman co-managing partner, Allensworth knows that having our team of women construction lawyers strengthens our profession, our industry, and the clients we serve.? Last week, the Women in Construction Law networking event at the 38th Annual Construction Law Conference was a powerful reminder of how much the Women in Construction Law section has grown over the years. What was once a section of just a handful of women now has dozens of women all across Texas practicing construction law and taking time to network together before the annual conference. Here’s to the women who have paved the way and those shaping the future of construction law! #WomensHistoryMonth #WomenInConstruction #ConstructionLaw Pictured: Avery Bertagna, Rebecca Busen, Maria Korzendorfer, Caroline K. Exciting news for Austin! The Downtown Austin Alliance (DAA) has appointed Davon Barbour as its new president and CEO, effective February 20, 2025. Barbour, who currently leads the Downtown Development District in New Orleans, brings a wealth of experience in urban revitalization and economic development. https://lnkd.in/gRBSEH7u Barbour's appointment comes at a critical time for downtown Austin, as the area faces post-pandemic challenges such as office vacancy rates and upcoming major construction projects. His experience in managing similar districts, including the Hollywood Entertainment District, positions him well to address these issues and continue fostering a vibrant downtown environment. We're especially proud of our partner, Whitney Knight, who as Chair of the DAA Board, played a pivotal role in this crucial leadership transition. Whitney is optimistic about the future of the DAA under Davon’s leadership: "Davon's track record of revitalizing urban communities and his deep understanding of economic development make him uniquely qualified to lead the Downtown Alliance. With his leadership, we are confident in the continued growth, vibrancy and success of downtown Austin for all who live, work and visit our city.” Join us in welcoming Davon Barbour to Austin and thanking Whitney Knight for her outstanding leadership in securing a bright future for our downtown.
