Allen County is proud to be a part of these placemaking initiatives that improve the life of our residents as well as appeal to families and companies looking to relocate.
On Monday we celebrated the completion of a new 1.5-mile section of the Cedar Creek Parks Trail in Leo-Cedarville, completed along Halter Road and Hosler Road, from Hursh Road to Center St/St Rd 1. Then we broke ground on a .5 mile trail extension that will connect from Halter Road to North Metea Park along Hursh Road and a new trail in the Town of Grabill from the western town limits to the Leo-Grabill Sports Complex. The Cedar Creek Parks Trail projects represent a significant investment in the community, totaling nearly $5.4 million. Funding for the initiative has been made possible through contributions from multiple stakeholders, including $796,489 from Leo-Cedarville, $1.5 million from the Allen County Fort Wayne Capital Improvement Board, $1,776,238 million from the Allen County Commissioners, $200,000 from Grabill, and $1,125,000 from Allen County Council. This collaborative effort underscores a shared commitment to enhancing local parks and recreational opportunities, fostering connectivity, and improving the quality of life for residents.
