We're going to #SfN24! Come say hello to us at our lectures, symposia, satellite events, and booth 1301.
关于我们
The mission of the Allen Institute is to unlock the complexities of bioscience and advance our knowledge to improve human health. Using an open science, multi-scale, team approach, the Allen Institute focuses on accelerating foundational research, developing standards and models, and cultivating new ideas to make a broad, transformational impact on science. Founded by philanthropist and visionary Paul G. Allen, the Allen Institute is a recognized leader in large-scale, open science research. Its research institutes include the Allen Institute for Brain Science, Allen Institute for Cell Science, Allen Institute for Immunology and The Paul G. Allen Frontiers Group. The Allen Institute believes that team science significantly benefits from the participation of diverse voices, experiences and backgrounds. High-quality science can only be produced when it includes different perspectives. We are committed to increasing diversity across every team and encourage people from all backgrounds to apply for our open positions.

As climate change intensifies, its effects ripple globally, leaving no corner of our marine environments untouched. Thanks to a four-year, $10 million grant funded by the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, a new center will be established at Scripps Institution of Oceanography to understand how climate change may impact the nervous systems and behavior of marine animals. Using four exemplar marine species — staghorn coral, the slipper snail, the painted sea urchin and the three-spined stickleback fish — the Center will investigate how warming oceans, decreased oxygen levels and ongoing ocean acidification impact animals' nervous systems and behaviors. I'm so fortunate to be able to count 4 cohorts of Shanahan Foundation Fellows as part of my team at the Allen Institute. This is an exceptional program that helps talented scientists get started in #neuroscience. Apply today!
Now accepting applications for the 2025 Shanahan Foundation Fellowship at the Interface of Data & Neuroscience. Apply by December 16 to join the Fall 2025 cohort. https://lnkd.in/di8yZ3Kn The Shanahan Foundation Fellowship at the Interface of Data and Neuroscience was created to provide freedom and flexibility to promising young scientists from diverse fields, as they work alongside neuroscientists at the Allen Institute and University of Washington. The three-year fellowship provides Ph.D.s from data science, computer science, physics, mathematics, and many other fields the mentorship and support to pursue their own research interests with our data. #OpenScienceWeek

#OpenScienceWeek may be coming to a close, but our mission to understand life and advance health continues! #AtAllenInstitute, we work in teams of teams to tackle the big questions in biology and then make the data, software, biological resources, protocols, and more open to the whole world. If this sounds like a mission you want to contribute to, you can help us out by sharing our resources with your networks, partnering with us as a collaborator, or by literally joining our ranks! Check out our open roles at https://lnkd.in/e9t_dZX.

Join the Allen Institute in celebrating #OpenScienceWeek by adding a resource to the Open Neuroscience website! See below to learn how: Step 1 ?? Know a #openscience #neuroscience project? ? Please list it on https://lnkd.in/efxbdAPx -> https://lnkd.in/eE6p35mC ?? We will do a brief spam check and upload it to the website! Step 2 ?? Once the post is up (with proper credits set out in the form), we will share it here, adding your LinkedIn handle (if you wish) to hopefully help raise awareness of the projects. ?? We hope this makes the space more plural, with contributions from everyone! For more info, please go to: https://lnkd.in/eRDbgvCb
