关于我们
Allegheny League of Municipalities (ALOM) is a nonprofit, membership based association working to foster local government in Allegheny County and Southwestern Pennsylvania. In turn, ALOM also serves as a source of staff support for the Allegheny County Boroughs Association (ACBA), the Allegheny County Association of Township Officials (ACATO) and the Allegheny County & Western PA Association of Township Commissioners (AC&WPATC). These associations are based on municipal class designation, and are facilitated by a group of dedicated volunteers. The mission of ALOM and our associations is to foster local government in Allegheny County and Southwestern PA by educating local elected officials, delivering essential resources and advocating for sound policy and legislation.

Shout-out to active ALOM Member Harrison Township!
I am thrilled to announce Harrison Township has been awarded two Local Share Account (LSA) grants by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, enabling significant infrastructure and public safety improvements without impacting the township’s budget. The first grant, totaling $317,654, will fund the rehabilitation of storm sewers along Garfield Street and Chestnut Street. Over the years, debris accumulation has reduced the capacity of the 60-inch sewer pipe, likely compromising its integrity. This project will restore the sewer's capacity and repair any damage along the approximately 500 linear feet of pipe. The second grant will support technology upgrades for the Harrison Township Police Department, allowing for essential equipment improvements without adding extra costs to the township’s annual budget. This funding will be used for new tasers, updated radios, enhanced building security, and new computers for the department. These upgrades are vital to ensuring our officers are equipped with the latest tools to serve and protect our community. We are grateful to State Representative Mandy Steele and Senator Lindsey Williams for their strong support of our grant applications to the Commonwealth Financing Authority. Receiving both of these grants is a tremendous step forward for Harrison Township, allowing us to make vital improvements without burdening our budget.
