关于我们
Allegheny CleanWays is an environmental nonprofit that engages and empowers people to eliminate illegal dumping and littering in Allegheny County. Many of the beautiful river banks, hillsides, streets and even parks of Allegheny County have been illegal dumping grounds for literally tons of commercial and municipal waste. Illegal dumping is not only an environmental issue—it also affects economic development, public health and safety, and the community and self esteem of residents who live in blighted neighborhoods. Last year, more than 1,000 volunteers cleaned up about 247,000 lbs of debris and nearly 2,300 tires! We have regular group cleanups on the weekends, waterway cleanups from April-October with the Tireless Project, and small crews of regular volunteers that clean up dumping 6 days a week with our DumpBusters program. For more information about volunteering, email [email protected].

Did you know that debris-filled storm grates were part of the reason the Fern Hollow Bridge collapsed? Our volunteer GrateKeepers commit to keeping our grates and streets tidy. Pittsburgh-area environmental group wants volunteers to help keep storm grates clear. Here's why
