Dear Global Alliance Community:
?
As we absorb the results of the November 5th United States’?election, the Board of Directors of the Global Alliance?for Behavioral Health and Social Justice affirms our mission, vision, and values within the context of upcoming policy changes that will impact health and well-being.?
?
The Global Alliance remains steadfastly committed to informing policy, practice, and research at the intersection of behavioral health, social justice, and well-being. As behavioral health expert clinicians, researchers, policy developers and advocates within our respective fields, we will continue to work together to advocate for positive mental health and well-being?for?all people.??The Global Alliance was founded on the "simple but revolutionary idea:?The mental health of individuals depends on their social context."?To that end, we redouble our commitment to?work with our partners to center the mental health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities, with a focus on those most harmed by their social contexts.?In accordance with our values, we reject and oppose any threats to the well-being of anyone?at any point across the lifespan.
?
The Global Alliance has?a rich 100-year history of advocacy for human rights at the state, national, and international levels.?We will continue this work and ask you to join us. We encourage you to continue to support evidence-informed initiatives that enhance behavioral?health?within your?local communities.

As we look toward 2025, we must remember that there are actions that we can all take to strengthen our communities and promote health and well-being for all.
?
We thank all of our members for your continued dedication to these issues, and we encourage you to check out more ways to?get involved.?If you are not currently a member,?consider joining the Global Alliance, to become part of a unique interdisciplinary community for individuals concerned with behavioral health and social justice.??
