Today we celebrate the 60th anniversary of Bloody Sunday, a powerful day in the ongoing fight for voting rights. Yesterday's struggles fuel today's progress. The fight is far from over, but every step forward brings us closer to a future where every vote counts. #votingrights

As we look forward to International Women's Day this Saturday and celebrate Women's History Month, we want to highlight some trailblazers who have helped create a more diverse democracy! Meet: LaTosha Brown, who co-founded Black Voters Matter and Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium. BVM is credited with get-out-the-vote efforts in Black communities impacting elections since 2017, and SWBGC focuses on Black women and girls’ futures and building their power. Patsy Mink, the first Asian-American woman to serve in Congress and run for president. She was the author and sponsor of the Title IX bill, which was posthumously renamed for her as the Patsy T. Mink Equal Opportunity in Education Act. Mary Church Terrell, the first president of the National Association of Colored Women, which fought for voting rights (motto: “lifting as we climb”). She spoke out against segregation at a women’s suffrage parade in 1913 and picketed the White House to demand women’s suffrage. Helen Keller, who many of us know already, but did you know she used her notoriety to promote several causes, including women’s suffrage? She also participated in the 1913 women’s suffrage march and co-founded the American Civil Liberties Union.
