A former president of the Monmouth County Police Chiefs Association, he has been a fixture in many community and school fundraising programs, including Toys for Tots, Boys and Girls Club and numerous other charity events. Chief Palmer also has specialized safety training that goes far beyond everyday police work. He studied at the FBI National Academy, whose graduates represent the top 1% of senior law enforcement around the world, and he also was involved in creating the largest Active Shooter Exercise in Monmouth County, in conjunction with the Monmouth County Chiefs of Police Association, Monmouth County Prosecutors Office, Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office and the Monmouth County Office of Emergency Management.
