It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Samuel S. Bergami, Jr., 80, former co-owner and President/CEO of Alinabal. Sam was a visionary leader, entrepreneur, and philanthropist who lived life to its fullest. His journey with Alinabal began in 1966 as a tool and die apprentice, and through hard work, dedication, and leadership, he rose to become co-owner and President/CEO before retiring in 2022. Under his leadership, Alinabal expanded its reach, overseeing divisions such as Practical Automation and Daco Instrument. Beyond business, Sam believed in fostering a strong company culture. He introduced employee engagement initiatives like the Company Family Picnic, employee open houses, and the Challenge Continuous Improvement process. He also championed education, establishing an annual college scholarship for employees' children. Sam’s impact extended far beyond Alinabal. A lifelong entrepreneur, he founded Saber Electrical Supply and Milford Electrical Contractors. His contributions to the business world earned him multiple Businessperson of the Year awards and an induction into the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame. A devoted philanthropist, Sam dedicated a tremendous amount of his time to community service and charitable organizations, serving on numerous boards and committees?both locally and at the state level. He was also a major supporter of the University of New Haven, his alma mater, where his generosity is honored through several buildings bearing his name. Sam’s legacy is one of leadership, generosity, and unwavering commitment to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
