Sharing from the Burlington County Women's Advisory Council! ??
The Burlington County Commissioners and Burlington County Women’s Advisory Council continues to recognize and support standout young women by awarding scholarships to those who are aspiring to lead and advocate for other women or pursue careers in STEM, health care, law, government, business and community service.
The Commissioners and Council announced that applications for the County’s annual Student Scholarship Awards are now being accepted. A total of five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors.
This year,?the Commissioners and Council are partnering with the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce to create a new scholarship category for a young woman interested in pursuing a career in business or entrepreneurship.
“March is Women’s History Month and one of the ways we celebrate the women trailblazers of the past is to recognize and support of some of our county’s standout women scholars. We want to help them continue their studies and become leaders themselves,” said Burlington County Commissioner Director Dr. Felicia Hopson, who is a liaison to the Women’s Advisory Council. “Thanks to the support of the Alice Paul Center for Gender Justice, Virtua Health, Remington & Vernick and our new sponsor, the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce, we are able to provide this important support to young women who are already making a difference in their communities.”
