Recently, ICE raids have targeted U.S. citizens and individuals with legal status. These reports have gained traction and discuss the reality of racial profiling. @documented.ny provided helpful tips on how to protect our communities. If you have non-citizen legal status or current immigrant status, keep the following documentation with you at all times: - Proof of Lawful Permanent Residence (Green Card) - Proof of lawful entry, stamped passport, or other travel documentation (visa) - Employment Authorization Card (work permit) - Approval Notice for Immigration Status - Driver's ID* This new mini-series will have three parts, divided by the type of status you may have, so stay tuned if you do not see yourself described in this one! *NY allows undocumented individuals to receive a Driver's License, so this does not apply to folks in this state* #citizen #alianzaforopportunity #protect #our #humanrights #knowyourrights #undocumented #immigrants #rights #status #ICE #raids

There has been a steady stream of Executive Orders coming out of the White House since the inauguration of the current administration. The "Defending Women" Executive Order was sent out on January 20th. Although the order has endless implications for the American public, there are also activist groups fighting to secure LGBTQIA+ rights in the courts. Over the years, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion have come in many forms: DEIB, JEDI, IDEA, and EDI. All of which are meant to ensure that traditionally underrepresented groups have a safe place to work, learn, and collaborate. Recently, there have been many conversations around the purpose of DEI, so we wanted to share this helpful graphic outlining the types of programs and initiatives that have come out.
