Delighted to share that our team, Colin Galen, Sam Lee, and I won a bronze medal in ICPC NAC 2024. We qualified to the World Finals in Astana, Kazakhstan. We won the South Division and the first acceptance of problem J. Looking forward to achieving great results in the World Finals. Link-cut tree is one of the most advanced data structures. It offers several complex operations. Today, I had a chance to meet Professor Daniel Dominic Sleator, who invented link-cut tree, and have a short talk with him. You can see it in the vlog of day 4 of ICPC NAC Championship 2024. Also, today was the DR round and we won it. Our main rival, MIT, got the 3rd rank. However, this doesn’t mean anything. Tomorrow is the important day. We are going to have the contest from 10 to 15 EDT time.

North America Championship ICPC is taking place from May 23rd to May 28th in Orlando, Florida. This is a ICPC competition aiming to select teams qualifying to orld final 2024, Kazakhstan. Teams from all over the US and Canada are prticipating. We are representing University of Maryland in this competition (UMD White, Colin Galen, Sam Lee, and Shayan Chashm Jahan) Everyday, a vlog of the competition will be uploaded. Vlog of CodeSprint Los Angeles 2024. It was an online contest that our team (Colin Galen, Sam Lee, and I) took part in. We got the 6th rank in total and the 1st rank amongst the universities. I recently posted a vlog of IOI 2022. (After two f years lol) I was the coach of my country’s team there, and we got two golds (ranks 10 and 12) and a silver medal (rank 43) there. There was a dope closing ceremony. And I’m sure it gives you a great deal of motivation!! https://lnkd.in/dmKnqAC3

Um_nik, in one word, is a legend. After this interview I found a lot more about him. Like what? He didn't do IOI and IMO in high school, instead he advanced to IPhO! (International Physiscs Olympiad) He is the champion of ICPC in 2020. Once, he was at the first place of CF for a few weeks (in 2018). If you are surprised, don't be yet. The real surprise is when he says he doesn't believe in talent! I will discuss many things with him. It took more than an hour (I wanted to keep it short, but I really couldn't, it was so good that I couldn't remove any part) He talks about his advices to competitive programmers, his own journey, what happened after he posted the solutions of a div 3 round (during the contest lol), what he did on the 4th Dec 2016 (double lol), his opinion about many different things, and definitely I asked him your questions!
