The interview with Arash Mahmoudian:
From winning a gold medal in the IOI to earning over half a million dollars a year, I’m interviewing someone who learned to code before he could read. Arash’s story is incredible. Born in Iran, he grew up writing programs. He studied Olympiad in Informatics during high school (where I first met him) and went on to win a gold medal in the IOI. Later, he moved to Canada to pursue his bachelor’s degree at the University of Waterloo. After gaining experience and completing a few internships, Arash moved to the Netherlands to work for Radix. Now, he’s waiting for his visa to relocate to the US. In this interview, Arash shares his thoughts on IOI and competitive programming, how he prepared, and his journey to becoming a quantitative researcher and landing a job in the field.
