Feeling incredibly proud of our founder, Alexis Russell, for sharing her inspiring and courageous story at the National Retail Federation Super Saturday hosted by Retail Orphan Initiative (RetailROI, Inc) at the Microsoft building in downtown Manhattan. For the first time ever, Alexis publicly shared her incredible life story. In front of 300+ executives leaders of retail and non-profit organizations, she spoke of her experience growing up in the foster care system, surviving 18 different homes, two separate adoptions, physical abuse, and inherent feelings of shane, loneliness, and longing to “belong”. The audience was wonderful and supportive, both giving her a standing ovation as well as individually taking the time to stop and express how her story personally touched them Thank you Vicki Cantrell and Greg Buzek for giving us the opportunity to participate.
