Alexandria Soccer Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, established in 1970 in Alexandria, Virginia. ASA operates in the City of Alexandria, Virginia, and offers soccer programs for children ages two through Adult. ASA programs are intended to develop good character, mental and physical fitness, and interpersonal skills through soccer activities. Sportsmanship, social skills, and self-esteem are developed by player participation and regular interaction with volunteer and professional coaches. The mission of Alexandria Soccer Association is to connect and engage the community through high quality, accessible, sports programs that positively impact Alexandria. For the second year in a row we added a college ID training session and panel discussion to our Feature Weekend Showcase experience. While the high school athletes heard from college coaches, their parents and guardians had the opportunity to learn about college admissions, test prep and paying for college! Participants find this experience valuable to the college process and we're happy to engage with experts that can advise on the every changing college recruiting / search / admissions process. Thank you to the coaches who ran the practice sessions (The Catholic University of America, James Madison University, George Mason University, Shenandoah University, St. Mary's College of Maryland, The George Washington University, Washington Adventist University) and shared their expertise as part of the panel discussion for students. And thank you to the fantastic speakers who shared information with the parents — Amikka Learning, Abigail Ganssle, American University.
