Some magazine issues are just more personal. This is one of them. I’m stoked, emotions running wild as I write this down because we’re finally revealing my personal favourite issue of the year: the March Women’s Issue. Look, I won’t even pretend to be neutral about this. Being a woman in this industry makes you feel some type of way. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve walked into conferences and events, scanned the room, and counted the female representation on two hands. For our March issue, we present ‘The Changemakers’ list, a tribute to the women who have breezed and braved their way through the Middle East’s construction world. This list isn’t just special, it also mirrors my own journey as an editor navigating this space in my early twenties, surrounded by industry veterans with years and years of experience ahead of me. And speaking of trailblazers—allow me to introduce our cover star: Zulema Cerdá Sanchis, Director at Accuracy, aka one of the strongest personalities I know in the industry. From the time I met her, Zulema exuded charisma and confidence like no other. After winning Inspiring Woman of the Year at our 2024 awards, it only felt right to put her in the spotlight again. I hope her story resonates with you as much as it did with me. Also in this issue are exclusive interviews and insights from Jana Gharazeddine (JLL MENA), Dr. Anas Bataw and Juan Tena Florez (KEO International Consultants), Dr Lina Noureddin (Lamar Holding), and Sean McQue (ALEC). At the end of the day, the built environment reflects the people who create it. As the industry evolves, the blueprint for success is clear: it’s about who gets to design, construct, and lead. As International Women's Day closes in on us, I hope this issue serves as a reminder to keep building workplaces where talent knows no barriers, where leadership has no limits, and where inclusion isn’t an afterthought. As always, a massive shoutout to the team for making this happen: Shehzin Shaikh, Angitha Pradeep, Pranati Yekula, Moutaz Gad El-Hak, Om Lal Mehta ????????????, Anup Nagpurkar, Aanchal Sharma, Thomas Shambler, Tofiq S Memon, Amjad Ayche, Ajith Narendra.
