Meet the Team: Ellsworth Tinant - Web Developer This week, we had the chance to sit down with our incredible web developer (and the unofficial office DJ), Ellsworth! Ellsworth isn’t just a master of code; he’s the architect behind some of the most seamless, functional, and visually stunning websites we’ve ever created. During our chat, he shared insights into his role, how he approaches each project, and what it takes to build a website that truly works for our clients. Here’s what he had to say. What is your role at the company, and how long have you been with us?? “I’m a Web Developer and I’ve been with the company since 2018. In short, my job is to take the client approved full size designs and make them come to life on the web in all permutations from large monitors to tablets to phones.” What inspired you to pursue a career in your field?? “I decided I needed a career shift and I went back to school to get a degree in Graphic Design. The school accidentally put me into an introductory programming class, and I really liked it. After finding out that web design involved not only “traditional” design skills, but also math, logic, and problem solving, I was hooked and switched my major.” What’s a fun fact that people might not know about you?? “Music. I play instruments at home, gig out in clubs, and go to as many shows (both big and small) as I can. If I had not found web design late in life I would definitely be a professional musician. Each year for the entire month of December I play bass in a rock n roll Christmas band. We play 2-3 gigs every week. It’s a lot of work but I look forward to it every year.” What’s your go-to productivity hack or morning routine?? “I wouldn’t say it’s a hack, but I very much subscribe to the “Steve Jobs Same Outfit Philosophy. “ I grab the same pair of jeans, the first t-shirt in the drawer, and the same sweatshirt every morning. I have the same breakfast and lunch every day. Not having to make those small decisions frees my mind to focus on? other things.” What’s one item you can’t live without at your desk?? “My music. What advice would you give to someone starting in your role or industry? Cultivate your curiosity outside of work. This may involve studious exploration into a subject like augmented reality or movie script-writing, or just opening yourself up to new stimuli, experiences and surroundings. As this becomes your habit of living, you will find yourself growing as a professional creative designer. In other words, never believe you know it all. Feed your brain.
