Yesterday together with Antler, JV Investment Network and our Radia Accelerator programme, we at AlbionVC had the pleasure of co-hosting a Women Tech Breakfast bringing together founders, investors, and operators to share experiences on building and scaling early-stage ventures. The breakfast featured a fireside chat with Oana Andreea Jinga, Co-founder and Chief Commercial & Product Officer at Dexory, who shared insights from her experience in founding and scaling the company. Dexory, specialising in digital twin and autonomous robots, has raised over $110 million since 2015. Key takeaways: ? Co-founder dynamics – Leave egos at the door; you're building something bigger than yourself. ? MVP – Don't hold onto your product for too long; getting it in front of people early allows for rapid iteration. ? Early fundraising – Securing funding without a product or customer feedback is challenging. Consider non-dilutive funding like startup grants and loans. ? Pilots – Be selective. Prioritize those with strong brand capital and link them to technical KPIs to avoid wasted efforts. ? Investor-founder fit – Investors are looking for great founders too. The rise of Manus, a new AI agent from China, underscores the rapid advancements in AI development worldwide. As highlighted in Sifted, this innovation places further pressure on European AI startups to enhance both speed and execution. Sebastian Hunte, AlbionVC Investment Manager, acknowledges that while Manus is not without flaws, it has delivered early value across various tasks. This advancement increases pressure on European AI companies, such as Convergence and Mistral, to enhance their speed and quality of execution. Seb adds: "The global bar for speed and quality of execution has once again gone up." While the initial release of DeepSeek caused temporary declines in shares of companies like Nvidia, Microsoft, and Amazon, these losses were quickly recovered. We are thrilled to share that AlbionVC backed Quantexa, a global leader in Decision Intelligence solutions for the public and private sectors, has completed a USD 175 million Series F investment round, led by Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan. The latest round values the British tech company at USD 2.6 billion and this milestone is fuelling Quantexa’s progress against its mission to help enterprises and government agencies across multiple markets stay ahead in the race for AI-driven DI. The funding will be used to develop new initiatives, strengthen Quantexa’s platform innovation and drive further growth in North America.
