When we asked what keeps him inspired, he didn’t miss a beat: his wife and son, and the talented colleagues who challenge him every day. When it came to naming a favorite project, he said: “[I’m] fortunate enough to be part of many great projects over the years – every project has helped shape who I am today.? We're proud to share that our Wilson Hall Expansion project at Oakland University has been recognized with an Honorable Mention for the 2024 ESD Construction & Design Award in TechCentury Magazine (via The Engineering Society of Detroit). This expansion enhances student success by consolidating essential services like the Welcome Center, Tutoring Center, and Disability Support Services within a modern, sustainable, and student-focused design. We collaborated closely with Oakland University, Rockford Construction, and PEA Group to ensure this 86,000-square-foot space supports accessibility, safety, and sustainability while emphasizing environmental consciousness due to its lakeside location. Wishing a warm work anniversary to Andrew Stone! As our Director of Architecture - Operations Leader, Andrew has 10 years' experience in the industry. To honor him, we asked a few questions to learn more about him and his passions! When asked what inspires him, his immediate answer is people and how the built environment can impact their interactions with others. Narrowing it down to one favorite project was tougher, but he had this to say: “My favorite project I've worked on is likely the Thomas B. Hagen Building for Erie Insurance. Our team recently visited the "Constructing Futures" exhibit at 1001 Woodward as part of the DC3 Detroit Month of Design. The exhibit highlighted the future of construction and design in the built environment, focusing on robotics, additive manufacturing, computational design, and AI. It was enlightening to see how these emerging technologies are shaping our industry and to engage in meaningful conversations about building more intelligently for the future. We appreciate the collaboration among cultural institutions, universities, and industry partners that made this event possible.? We are proud to support initiatives that delve into Detroit's rich history of technological advancement and explore the transformative potential of these technologies in construction.
