In 1950 the National Film Board made a series made specifically for television, "On the Spot" consisted of 15-30 minute documentary reports on different aspects of life. In 1955, Fred Davis interviewed men whose main concern is forest conservation. In I967, Ten Alberta Junior Forest Wardens are selected to represent Alberta at the “Young Canadian Resources for Tomorrow” conference held in Quebec. One hundred youth chosen across Canada to attend. It took place during Canada's centennial year and focused on issues related to the country's natural resources and their sustainable management for the future. The conference aimed to engage young Canadians in discussions about the responsible development and conservation of Canada's abundant natural resources, including forestry, mining, agriculture, and energy. It brought together young people from across the country to exchange ideas, learn about various industries, and explore ways to ensure the long-term prosperity of Canada while preserving its environment. The discussions and outcomes of the conference likely influenced policies and practices related to resource management in Canada, as well as raised awareness about environmental stewardship among the younger generation. #ThrowBackThursday #JFWHistoryTidBits
