At Albers we understand the importance of being a team player in the community, not just for the Warfighter. That’s why we are introducing a brand-new series that showcases our teammates who are making an impact in their local area. Meet Greg James! Greg currently serves as Albers’ Proposal Manager to create coordinated efforts in response to federal and public solicitations.?He joined our company after serving 3 years as a Proposal Manager in the Utility Industry, and 10 years as a Law Enforcement Officer, where he played key roles on his metro-Atlanta department’s SWAT Team for 6 of those years. In 2018 Greg founded the Georgia Law Enforcement Organization (GLEO) and currently serves as the Executive Director. A 501c3 nonprofit organization that supports law enforcement officers all over the state of Georgia in times of need, or as the result of life-changing events. He started this nonprofit to fill a critical gap in long-term support for law enforcement officers in Georgia. After a career in law enforcement, he saw firsthand how communities often rally around officers following life-changing events but recognized that their burdens can persist for years. GLEO was created to provide sustained assistance, ensuring that officers can overcome hardships and rebuild their lives. To date, GLEO has distributed over $1.7 million to officers facing significant challenges, ranging from a deputy who lost his entire family in a car accident to officers who were wrongly charged with murder and ultimately cleared. The organization operates under the motto: "We protect and serve those who protect and serve." Through financial aid, advocacy, and unwavering support, GLEO stands as a dedicated resource for Georgia’s law enforcement community.
