  • Indigenous Peoples' Day recognizes the beauty, perseverance, vibrancy and diversity of the Native Community, who we are honored to serve. Alaska Native and American Indian people make up a significant number of our workforce. The series of photos we feature today were submitted by our staff, who wanted to share their culture! In observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Monday, Oct. 14, our specialty clinic services and business operations are closed. Emergency Department and Walk-in Clinic services are still available. For those needing non-emergent care today or any other day, the Walk-in Clinic at ANMC is open every day, including all holidays. It is located across the pond from the hospital in the Healthy Communities Building, 3900 Ambassador Drive, third floor, and is open today from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

  • Every child matters. Today, we recognize those who attended U.S. Indian Boarding Schools and honor those who never came home. Each year on Sept. 30, we bring awareness to the atrocities and generational impacts of those affected on National Day of Remembrance for Indian Boarding Schools. Also known as Orange Shirt Day, we encourage everyone to use this day as a time of reflection, acknowledgement of truth and work toward healing. Learn more about U.S. Indian Boarding School history and find other resources and research on National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition’s website: https://lnkd.in/gnbSjZ2z
