We recently recognized a group of employees who demonstrate our values. We named Barb our Integrity Icon for her ability to serve as a role model for integrity and ethical behavior. For more than 13 years, Barb’s steadfast ability to keep projects on track led her to her current role in financial project management. She’s known for rolling up her sleeves to tackle tough issues through integrity, honesty and frank assessment of the facts. By engaging in critical conversations, supporting those around her and doing what’s right for our company make her a standout choice for Integrity Icon. We appreciate you, Barb!

We care about the causes that are important to our employees. Through our employee grant program, we donate to nonprofits at which our employees volunteer their time or donate their personal funds. We recently donated $500 to Dimond West Little League on behalf of our network technician, Sean. He’s a head coach of regular season team and an assistant coach of the all-star team. He also recently celebrated 25 years with Alaska Communications. Thank you, Sean!

Eight interior Alaska villages along the Yukon River will receive high speed, affordable fiber internet bringing new opportunities for education, healthcare and economic development in their communities. The Alaska FiberOptic Project is a collaboration between Calista Corporation, Doyon, Limited, Gana-A'Yoo, Limited, Tanana Chiefs Conference and Alaska Communications. In fact, he was nominated in three separate categories by three different nominators for his unwavering embodiment of our values. The way he follows through and takes responsibility for his actions rise above, making him the recipient of our Accountability Ace award. Chris, a network technician in Anchorage, consistently takes ownership of outcomes for both internal and external customers. He has built strong relationships with our business customers to where they recognize him by name and face, often praising his ability to resolve issues swiftly. He also welcomes and actively mentors apprentices, giving them solid foundational knowledge and a professional benchmark to aspire to. Thank you, Chris!
