Our Alabama State Parks team is incredibly proud to celebrate Marketing Field Liaison Olu Dosunmu-Ogunbi, M.A. for his recent graduation from Leadership Montgomery’s Torchbearer program. The Torchbearer program is designed to cultivate the leadership potential of emerging leaders by equipping them with the tools, insights, and networks needed to make a meaningful impact throughout the community and their spheres of influence. Olu is a leader driven to create positive change in the world. His work as a member of Class XVI further solidifies that commitment in our 21 Alabama State Parks and beyond. We celebrate him today. Thanks to a donation by The University of South Alabama (USA) Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order, those with mobility needs will have access to an all-terrain track chair at Gulf State Park-Alabama. Alabama State Parks recently welcomed the Alabama Legislative Parks Oversight Committee for on-site parks tours. Director Matthew Capps led the group, highlighting exciting developments at Wind Creek State Park such as lakefront cottage construction and campground renovations. The group also visited Chewacla State Park, where Director Capps shared plans for a new event space, an inclusive playground, and an accessible bathhouse in Loop A of the campground.
