Last week, ALA Chicago had the honor of volunteering at the Greater Chicago Food Depository! In a city where many face food insecurity, we’re proud to have played a small role in making a meaningful impact. During our shift, we collectively achieved: 7,776 lbs. of Pinto Beans → 6,480 meals (180 meals per volunteer!) 7,448 lbs. of Apples → 6,207 meals (183 meals per volunteer!) 6,156 lbs. of Oranges → 5,130 meals (205 meals per volunteer!) Grand Total: 21,380 lbs. of food repacked into 17,817 meals! Together, we can make a difference—one act of service at a time.
