Alabama Power Company’s Western Division is no stranger to severe weather, and we stand ready to support our neighbors in need following this weekend’s tornadoes. Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to join my teammate, Mitzi Houk, in the Town of Sipsey to deliver supplies to displaced families. A huge thank you to the Alabama Power Foundation and our employee-led volunteer group, the Alabama Power Service Organization, for making these donations possible. Our coworkers didn’t hesitate—by Monday morning, they were assessing needs across the state, hitting the stores, and packaging essential supplies for the hardest-hit areas. That’s the #PowerOfGood in action! ??????

Following the recent tornadoes and storms, our Alabama Power Service Organization volunteers packed storm relief kits to support those in need. These kits, filled with essential items like hygiene products, socks, and nonperishable foods, are on their way to help our neighbors in Sipsey, Plantersville and Chilton County.

I put on my red spectacles today to honor these 100+ new Alabama Power Service Organization volunteer leaders who, along with their chapter membership, will spread all over this state to help as many people as we can. Smile, y’all! ??????

Building stronger communities together ?? Members of the Alabama Power Service Organization and Energizers retiree group teamed up to support Ethan's Heart Bags4Blessings and the Montgomery Cancer Center, bringing care packages and smiles to those in need.

For Black History Month, as President of the AABE Birmingham Chapter, along with AABE Vice President Marsha Morgan, CAP?, we had the privilege of hosting an incredible fireside chat alongside our AABE officers and executive sponsors, Staci Brown Brooks, MBA, and Earl Berry. We were joined by Joe Hampton, President of Spire Energy's Alabama and Mississippi utilities, and Terry Smiley, VP of the Eastern Division at Alabama Power, for a powerful conversation about leadership in energy. A big thank you to our leadership team, executive sponsors, and all who attended as we honored Black leaders in the energy sector.
