Please join us at Hoover Library May 30 at 6 p.m. to learn about election misinformation and the media's role in political campaigns. While misinformation has always existed, its power has grown exponentially in recent years. Artificial intelligence (including video, photo, and audio generators) now allows those who want to deceive to do that with false content that is high-quality as well as quick and easy to produce. This event will provide historical context as well as an in-depth look at how current technologies are expected to affect the information landscape this year. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gDEXZEYK The event is free and snacks will be provided.

We've been having an awesome time with Breakthrough Birmingham scholars during a Mass Media and Journalism Club aimed at #newsliteracy and debunking misinformation. Our fifth of six weekly meetings is tonight. Thanks so much to the journalists who have led previous sessions: Carla Wade, Aajene Robinson and Solomon Crenshaw Jr.

Thank you so much to the speakers and panelists at Alabama Media Professionals #newsliteracy event at Pinson Public Library. They helped community members learn about the ethics and evolution of journalism as well as the rising threat of misinformation in advance of the 2024 elections. We'll be holding a similar event in Hoover May 30 and hope to see you there! #StopMisinformation
