We wrapped up the last AGP event for the year last night quite festively. Thank you to the Consul General of Germany Melanie Moltmann for officially lighting the Germany Christmas Pyramid and marking the Cullman Christkindlmarkt (German Christmas Market) open! Thank you to Nathan Anderson, Dale Greer, Ben Harrison, Mayor Jacobs, and the City of Cullman for hosting our AGP group. Thank you to Consul General Melanie Moltmann for spending a day with us in Cullman yesterday and share the town's German heritage with her. Thank you to plant director Dieter Wiedmann and his team at REHAU AUTOMOTIVE LLC for giving us a great tour of the plant. We are proud to have them represented on our AlabamaGermany Partnership board of directors and as a member.

Thank you to all that braved the weather last night to join our last AlabamaGermany Partnership Stammtisch of the year. As always it was great to catch up with everyone.

Join us next Thursday, November 21, for an afternoon in Cullman where we will celebrate the town's German heritage with?German Consul General Melanie Moltmann. Our first stop (3 p.m.) is at the German manufacturer REHAU AUTOMOTIVE LLC for a visit and tour with their plant director Dieter Wiedmann. The company was the first German supplier of Mercedes-Benz to be located in Alabama.?ONLY A FEW SPOTS LEFT! The second stop (4:30 p.m.) is at the Cullman County Museum where we will meet up with Nathan Anderson, Executive Director of the?Cullman City Parks & Recreation. Nathan will walk us through part of the Christkindlmarkt and share the thoughts behind it plus the town's German heritage. The last stop (6:00 p.m.) is at the German Christmas Pyramid.?We will end the program with Consul Moltmann officially lighting the German Christmas Pyramid (the tallest in the US) to mark that the German Christmas Market (Christkindlmarkt) in Cullman is OPEN for the season. Thank you to our AlabamaGermany Partnership board member Dr. Matthew Feminella and The University of Alabama for hosting Joseph Lulka, chair of AlabamaGermany Partnership Young Professionals last night. Joseph talked to 80+ students about the importance of learning a second language (like German) to help their career advancement and how it had helped his journey. German is the third most spoken language in Alabama after English and Spanish.
