ALA's Shared Housing team was thrilled to participate and share crucial Housing Information and details about our Shared Housing Program, providing safe and affordable living solutions for seniors. ?? Our ALA team had the opportunity to visit with City of Hawthorne Homeless Services staff and introduce ALA's Home Share program. During our visit, we learned about the incredible work being done to serve Hawthorne's most vulnerable residents. A special shout-out to case coordinator Lisa Gonzalez for inviting us, and to program manager Dulce Medina for giving us a tour of the Hawthorne Senior Center. It is deeply inspiring to see the effort and care offered by those on the frontlines of the homelessness crisis, and our goal is for the Home Share program to be a part of the solution.

?? We are thrilled to welcome Mellani Aguilar to our team! Mellani will be working with ALA's Shared Housing team. With more than a decade of experience as a product designer and developer, she will now apply her skills to help manage Shared Housing’s daily tasks and develop digital tools aimed at expanding ALA’s capacity. Join us in giving Mellani a warm welcome! "I feel a personal connection with ALA’s mission because when my family moved to the US, my uncle shared his home with us. Having a roof over our heads stabilized our foundation, deepening my understanding of the life-changing value that a shared home can bring. This week, community leaders from county agencies, community-based organizations, direct service providers, managed care plans, housing providers, and more convened to build relationships, discuss real challenges, and collaborate on solutions to drive the success of a once-in-a-generation initiative: #CalAIM. ? We are continually inspired by your brilliance and commitment, and your energy and insights were just as deep as we expected. Attendees prioritized shifting from competitors to collaborators by sharing tangible best practices and fostering referral pipelines. They also uplifted system recommendations that have the potential to impact millions of #Medicaid beneficiaries in #LA and across #California.
