Eden’s Farm in the South Ward of City of Newark, a cornerstone of our community for over 20 years. Initially managed by Brother Mostapha and a dedicated group of community members, this historic farm is now under the stewardship of Al-Munir LLC, with Master Gardeners Hashim Bennett, Hajja Dena Corbin, Amarilys Olivio, and Farm Manager and Resident Doula Jewell Garcia at the helm. Our mission for Eden’s Farm this year is ambitious: we aim to grow 600 pounds of produce and host over 30 community events. We’ve already made significant strides: ? Built shading using 10 ft posts and shade cloth to protect our crops. ? Constructed a 10 ft table wrapped in stainless steel for gatherings and educational events. ? Developed a pollinator habitat to support our crops. ? Focused on cultivating African and Latinx heritage crops to celebrate our cultural heritage. To continue this important work, we need your help. We are calling on community leaders to make a charitable donation towards the maintenance and development of Eden’s Farm.
