The U.S. Green Building Council has officially recognized REI's newest distribution center in Lebanon, TN with the LEED v4 Platinum Certification. This achievement marks the first certified facility of its kind in Tennessee and the largest LEED Platinum industrial building in the Southeast. REI Distribution Center 4 joins an elite group of only 10 warehouse facilities in the country to achieve this rating. This is very cool. We're so proud to have helped REI achieve this goal! Thank you to the Spirit of Construction Foundation for honoring Don Neyer, a trailblazer in our industry and former CEO of Al. Neyer. His 45-year journey with us was marked by innovation and dedication that continues to inspire our employee-owners today.
We’re proud to honor Don Neyer, former CEO of Al. Neyer, as one of our posthumous lifetime achievement honorees. Don was a 4th-generation leader who dedicated 45 years to the family business, pioneering the design-build method and helping Al Neyer become a leader in construction and development. His widely celebrated contributions earned him numerous accolades, including the University of Cincinnati’s Distinguished Real Estate Award, the Wally Emmerling Award for exemplifying Rotary values, and the Greatest Living Cincinnatian title in 2020. Don’s legacy extends far beyond his professional achievements. He was a devoted husband and caregiver to his wife, Phyllis, who had dementia. He earned recognition from the Council on Aging as an “outstanding caregiver” and Pro Seniors with a “Senior Who Rocks” award. He also received St. Xavier High School’s highest alumni honor, the “Insignis” award, in 1999. Don and Phyllis raised eight children, 32 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren. His life was deeply rooted in family, faith, and philanthropy. A quote that best captures this is, "He never sought recognition; he did what was right.” Join us in honoring Don Neyer’s remarkable legacy at the Spirit of Construction Foundation Gala on October 19, 2024, where we’ll celebrate his enduring impact on the construction industry and the community he cherished.

Looking back on this summer, I am thankful to have had an experience with Al. Neyer! With this being my first term with Al. Neyer, I was introduced to the multi-family side of construction and enjoyed it thoroughly.? During my 3 months there, I worked on a multi-family project titled The Hickory in Hendersonville, TN. This multi-family complex consists of two buildings and outside amenities. My main task during this project was assisting with the turnover process of Building 1000. I aided and led Owner’s Walks, prepared and organized punch lists, and collected close-out docs. I want to personally thank my project team, Sam Gaither, Jarod Foster, Phillip Davis, Austin Tillery, and Bob Clemens, who taught and guided me through everything this summer! I’ve learned so much from this co-op and am very grateful for the amazing experience I’ve had this past summer! ?
