Get ready Akron! ????♂?????♀?????♂?The Akron Bicentennial Wellness Challenge is here! In partnership with the Akron Marathon Charitable Corporation, the Bicentennial Wellness Challenge is an inclusive, yearlong program designed to inspire residents to prioritize health while commemorating Akron’s history. Participants can choose from activities such as walking, running, biking, hiking, swimming, or any activity that totals at least 15 minutes. The challenge runs from Jan. 7 to Dec. 6, 2025, and those who complete 200 activities will receive a commemorative pin to mark their achievement. The program is free to participate and is open to everyone in the Akron community, regardless of age or fitness level. Participants can engage in wellness activities that fit their lifestyle and personal goals. Starting January 7, participants can register by visiting AkronMarathon.org/register. Once registered, they can log their activities, track their progress, and work toward their goal. “The Wellness Challenge is a wonderful way for Akronites to engage in the Bicentennial while building healthier habits,” said Mark Greer, Executive Director of Akron 200.“ This initiative reflects the spirit of our city—a community that values wellness, togetherness, and progress. As our city celebrates its historic anniversary, participants will be able to chart their own health milestones throughout the year. We’re thrilled to partner with the Akron Marathon Charitable Corporation to make this possible.” The program is free to participate and is open to everyone in the Akron community, regardless of age or fitness level.
