At Akoya, we care about causes that are meaningful to our team. We recently celebrated Akoya Volunteer Week by teaming together to make an impact in our communities! Staff showed care in cleaning up National Capital Park-East, nurtured nature by spreading mulch around Allegheny Commons Park, and raised funds for senior furry friends. It was a wonderful week to #MakeADifference! ? Woman-owned small business delivering creative, practical communications strategies
关于我们
Akoya is a woman-owned small business that delivers creative and practical communication strategies for strengthening customer and stakeholder engagement, along with all the tools for implementation. Some say we’re obsessive over-achievers. Others say our standards are freakishly high. All we know is that customers turn to Akoya because we are devoted to their success. We listen, we understand their mission, we live and breathe their challenges. And we become their can-do, go-to, never-say-die team, creating compelling communications that change minds, engage customers and stakeholders, and deliver results. Our sweet spots are science and technology, energy, and health care, agendas that we care about passionately and work hard to advance.

Akoya is proud to support diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) at FHLBanks through the “Telling Our Story” project. Genna Cavanaugh and Whitney Tipton, Ph.D. recently traveled to Chicago to present the results of six months of interviews. These interviews led to the development of 14 DEI-focused stories, a new website, and infographics, which will be released in November. Stay tuned! #DEI #Inclusion

In July, the Water Power Technologies Office’s Engagement and Outreach team met with their water power communications colleagues at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. The team reflected on successes and accomplishments from the past year and brainstormed for the upcoming one. Several Akoyans and partners support WPTO’s Engagement and Outreach team! It’s #CertificationNationDay! ?? What humbles us most about being certified by @greatplacetoworkUS is that the decision is based on feedback given directly from our people. We want our team to feel valued and understand the key role they play in making Akoya #GPTWCertified. #GreatPlaceToWork

Happy Akoya anniversary to our very own Karen Marchese! Karen joined the company back when it was named Brandegee. We are so lucky to have benefitted from 35 years of Karen’s expertise. She has provided consistently stellar support for the Solid-State Lighting and Emerging Technologies Programs at the Department of Energy. Thank you, Karen, for embodying Akoya’s commitment to excellence!

With apologies to Steelers fans and their Terrible Towel… the Akoya beach towel has taken over! Akoyans across the country brightened their communities with a vibrant splash of orange this summer. We loved seeing photos of how staff enjoyed their plush swag. Congratulations to Ashley Anzelone, PHR, SPHR on winning Akoya’s Sweet Summertime photo contest and earning a tote bag!

We share with grief that Nancy Reese, co-founder of Akoya, passed away last week. Nancy was a beloved and highly respected colleague, as well as a vocal champion of women’s rights, as shown through her support of the Women's Law Project. To pay tribute to an amazing legacy, we revisit her words of wisdom, originally written and shared upon her retirement: https://lnkd.in/eKzCFSRQ. Join us in remembering a life well lived and well loved. As Nancy said, “Love to all and don’t sweat the small stuff.”?

Starting a new job can be overwhelming. ?? Having a #mentor during the first month helps! Our Akoya Point Person (APP) initiative matches every new Akoyan with a current employee for regular meetings at the start of employment. We want our new hires to start building rapport with their colleagues from day one. ??

Some of our Southern California-based Akoyans met this week to work together over fresh horchata and churros! We love when our staff hold in-person meetups. ?? Hannah Comerford Hannah Roberts Maxine Hillman Sonia Lupher, PhD
