    Omen, HyperX and Infinity Marketing trusted us again to create their vibrant booth at this year’s Twitchcon in San Diego, California! ?? Our in-house teams designed and fabricated the multi-foot Portal Grove booth with the HyperX QuadCast 2 S as a beacon for all OMEN and HyperX fans! ??? Guests and visitors got to participate in a quest, searching for secret codes to successfully light up the Quadcast 2 S beacon and win special prizes! With registration counters in each corner, guests from all over moved through each touchpoint to solve each puzzle! ?     On Saturday,?USITT?at?California State University, Fullerton presented Scenic Fabrication 3-Ways brought to you by?Disney Live Entertainment?and featuring?Austin Johnston, alongside Jonathan Ramos of Disney Live Entertainment, and Adam Swingler of?Gallagher Staging and Productions. Here are five key takeaways from their hour keynote for 350 discussing how scenic fabrication is considered differently for Events + Experiential, Theme Parks and Festivals + Touring: 1. The Environment Steers the Execution: Environmental factors drive how we build things, whether it be how durably or detailed, the environmental conditions around ANY scenic will determine the best course of execution - especially including project lead time! 2. Know your Materials! No one is ever done learning so long as new materials come out daily! Knowing materials that are used properly (and most cases IMPROPERLY) to achieve different looks and durabilities is critical to being a great designer or fabricator. 3. Know the Codes and Standards: Every theme park has legal standard (usually called a GPS) and every city has Fire, Building & Safety and other codes relevant to what is allowable, acceptable and permissible - know the code before the quote! 4. Budgets Almost ALWAYS Inform the Creative: Always summarize KPI’s and client priorities but budget framing upon inception cuts out back-and-forth when the budget can inform the creative. "Value engineering” is an invaluable trait from your scenic partner! 5. Integrity is Key: From relationships with industry, individuals and companies - to your reputation - integrity is a must because eventually, you’ll have a ‘911’ at 3:00AM and no one to call! Treat partners as you would your own team! These five takeaways were only a small taste of the one hour fireside chat and audience Q&A!
