Our team is thrilled to celebrate the grand opening of the Pacific Highlands Ranch Library, a project we had the privilege to bring to life alongside HGW Architecture and KPFF Consulting Engineers. Akela Engineering & Consulting provided electrical construction and consulting services that brought essential energy systems and environmental enhancements to this 18,000 SF library. Our work included Photovoltaic System Design and improvements across the library’s 1.5-acre site, supporting both sustainability and functionality. This space invites people of all ages to gather, explore, and experience its cultural richness. Seeing everyone’s joy as they explore this space reminds us why we’re dedicated to creating places that connect directly with our community. We're proud of our work on UC Irvine's Verano 8 Graduate Student Housing project. Designed with graduate students in mind, this LEED Platinum and Fitwel-certified building embodies UC Irvine’s vision for a student-centered and community-focused housing, offering a private, welcoming space that feels like home. Akela Engineering & Consulting provided design-build electrical engineering construction and consulting services for this expansive 4-7 story residence, housing 1,050 beds. The project also includes a Community Amenity Building, Maintenance and Operations Building, and a 5-story parking structure with 853 spaces. Our collaboration with design-build experts brought this project to life, and we're honored to see that it received the National Award of Merit in educational facilities from the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA).
