We had an opportunity to sit down with our client agency, Asheville Police Department’s #DroneFirstResponder unit, and test the latest updates to the Intuitive Robotics DMS / #DFR operations software. It’s incredible. Easy to use, easy to navigate, point-and-click dispatch, and the companion app for the native Smart Controller allows for the operator to retain their known kinetics. This is a major win over trying to fly with a gaming controller, like all other softwares, that never feels the same as a drone controller. APD uses (or has used) 3 different software solutions for #DFR. Although each of the operators has their favorite due to little nuances and features, the resounding response from all is the Intuitive Robotics platform video streaming should be the industry standard. Currently their are 3 DJI #Dock2 systems under the the Intuitive Robotics ecosystem here, two rooftop systems and one mobile system in a pickup truck! We did something - as far as we know - has not been done anywhere in the USA yet. This 2024 Ford Motor Company #Lightning, full #EV, has a Whelen Engineering #Core system, along with a DJI #Dock2 drone docking station including the feature-packed #Matrice3DT aircraft. In the backseat of the truck #drone pilot "cockpit", which is a custom LED monitor and keyboard system. In the front #frunk you will find a custom 32" monitor on a fold down bracket from underside of the hood, second #Motorola radio system and a #Dakota lithium secondary battery for all onboard upfitter electronics. We also installed the graphics and assisted in the design! Stay tuned - a full reveal is underway!

DRONE SAVES OFFICERS LIFE: We received a call today from one of our #Texas #lawenforcement agencies who had their recently acquired #tactical #drone shot down with a shotgun while searching for a suspect. Just a few months ago, prior to acquiring this equipment, an officer would have been in place of this drone. Who knows how that would have ended. Equipment can be replaced, lives cannot.
