Another inspiring day in the books at the 2024 Airports Going Green (AGG) conference! Day two was all about celebrating the innovations and achievements made in the aviation industry with the AGG Award program. Industry leaders shared insights on their award-winning sustainable practices and projects and how they continue to create positive change for a greener future. Congratulations to the 2024 recipients, and thank you for your commitment to the planet.

We're underway at the 2024 Airports Going Green conference! Kicking off the conversation this morning was CDA Commissioner Jamie Rhee, CDA Deputy Commissioner Aaron Frame, Melinda Pagliarello, Managing Director of Environmental Affairs at Airports Council International - North America, and Brian Kalish, Associate Vice President of Communications for the AAAE. Mayor Brandon Johnson also joined virtually for a special welcome and charge to the 200+ attendees from around the globe. Learn more at aaae.org/green.

Congratulations to Eric Caplan! AGG is honored to have Eric on the AGG Steering Committee and have his participation 3 years in a row during our programming. Next week, he will be leading a panel with the Illinois State Climatologist, Trent Ford; Arlington Municipal Airport Director, Marty Wray, and contributing author to multiple ACRP reports regarding resiliency, Lauren (Seydewitz) Vaught, LEED AP to discuss climate change and resilience. Tampa's Sustainable Management Plan will be receiving an Honorable Mention at this year's AGG Awards.

Airports Going Green is honored to welcome El Hadji Aly Ouattara from Abidjan, and Renaud Duplay and Matthieu Piron from Paris to give insights from innovative programs and projects in decarbonization.

The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) - O'Hare & Midway International Airports and AAAE are happy to announce the recipients of this year's AGG Awards! This year's sessions feature insight into emerging decarbonization strategies from overseas like hydrogen initiatives in Paris and nature-based solutions for carbon sequestration in the Ivory Coast. Local sustainability leadership will also be featured including a look into sustainability at the Chicago Marathon, the largest marathon to achieve the Council for Responsible Sport's Evergreen Level Certification.
