It’s hard to believe a week has already passed since our Salt Lake City conference. If you attended, what was the highlight for you?

The AGTA Board of Directors recently voted to extend their partnership with the Center for Transportation Research UT Knoxville and the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee for an additional 16 months. These departments at the University of Tennessee provide executive and administrative support for AGTA, including day-to-day operations and conference planning. The partnership will also expand this year to include exploring research opportunities. AGTA is excited to continue working with our partners at UTK! During the September 29 Board Meeting in Salt Lake City, the AGTA Board of Directors voted to extend Dave Bird's presidency for an additional year. AGTA is proud to have such a dedicated president who works diligently with the rest of the Board to ensure AGTA continues to thrive. The Board of Directors holds monthly virtual meetings with two in-person meetings yearly (one at each conference).

Thank you John Groden, CPP and Airport Ground Transportation Association for the opportunity to present on 2024 EV sales data through August, discuss trends and equipment definitions, then share a case study reviewing cost to operate EVCS in an airport environment. Questions from airports in attendance centered around when to provide what level of service and if passenger behavior or regulation is driving EVCS demand. Bob Andrews and Malloy Pohrer also participated in the panel.

We have so much to share about our conference, but we wanted to take a moment to recognize the first recipient of the Ray and Sandy Mundy Scholarship. Kenneth Sagona of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville was selected for this scholarship and is pictured below with Ray Mundy and Sandy Mundy, who have been an integral part of AGTA for 50 years. Kenny is also pictured with AGTA President Dave Bird. To kick off our Tuesday sessions, Kenny delivered a presentation as one of the panelists for a session on airport ground transportation contingency planning during irregular operations. Congratulations, Kenny!
