GRASP Earth India training 2025 wrap-up????? This week’s training program has come to a close at?Dayananda Sagar University?in Bangalore?and it was a great experience for everyone involved. Participants engaged in hands-on activities, worked together on case studies, and explored practical applications of satellite data. They also learned how to get started using the?#GRASP?algorithm for advanced applications of satellite and instrument data as well as insights into its applications with?NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration?and?ISRO - Indian Space Research Organization?satellite missions. The program was not only useful for those interested in #airquality products from ground-instrumentation and satellite datasets, but also for participants with broader interests in surface applications and general remote sensing uses. The scientific discussions and knowledge-sharing among participants from diverse backgrounds added significant value to the experience. The Dust Doctoral Network project:?Advancing research on atmospheric mineral dust??? The?Dust-DN project, the first doctoral network in Europe dedicated to?atmospheric mineral dust, is funded under the?Horizon Europe?programme through?Marie Sk?odowska-Curie Actions. Coordinated by?CARE-C at The Cyprus Institute, the project aims to address key scientific and societal challenges related to atmospheric dust. The main objectives of Dust Doctoral Network?are: ?? To study the microphysical properties of dust ?? To investigate the influence of source regions on atmospheric dust ?? To assess impacts on health, aviation, and energy production ?? To examine the role of dust in the climate system This initiative brings together?8 core partners?and?15 associated partners?from academia, research, and industry to train the next generation of scientists in atmospheric #dustresearch. Feb 20th-21st About the convener: Richard Kleidman is the CMO of AirPhoton Inc, the U.S. division of GRASP-Earth. He has been working in the field of satellite remote sensing since 1993. In 2007, he began presenting satellite remote sensing training sessions for NASA’s Climate and Radiation Branch, and in 2010, he co-founded NASA’s Applied Remote Sensing and Training (ARSET) program. Richard has led numerous workshops for ARSET, NASA, and AirPhoton, providing training for air quality professionals new to satellite remote sensing.
