Transporting relief workers and emergency supplies to disasters and humanitarian crises around the globe.

关于我们

Airlink is a global humanitarian organization delivering critical aid to communities in crisis by providing free airlift and logistical solutions to nonprofit partners, changing the way the humanitarian community responds to disasters around the world. Airlink's network includes more than 200 aid organizations and nearly 50 air carrier and logistics partners worldwide. Its first mission was the response to the Haiti earthquake in 2010. Since its inception, Airlink’s airline partners have provided over 11,000 flights for relief workers and transported nearly 12,000,000 pounds of humanitarian cargo, saving nonprofits nearly $33 million in air transport costs and directly helping at least 46 million people. This is made possible through the expertise of Airlink's team, in-kind airlift from commercial airlines, and donations from organizations and individuals within the aviation sector and beyond.

Today we remember the devastating impacts of two #cyclones, both taking place in March and occurring ten years apart in different parts of the world. In 2015, Airlink responded to Cyclone Pam, which struck Vanuatu as a destructive category 5 cyclone on March 6. Thousands of people were impacted across Vanuatu's six provinces. With support from United Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, Airlink moved large-scale water purification units to the archipelago for Waves For Water, helping more than 30,000 people gain access to clean water. In 2023, Cyclone Freddy ended on March 14 after lasting a total of 36 days making it the longest-lasting tropical cyclone worldwide. Having impacted Madagascar, Malawi, and Mozambique, hundreds of thousands of people were displaced and cholera outbreaks became a major concern. Airlink also similarly supported WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) needs by getting the IsraAID team to Malawi to launch cholera prevention programs. Although March is generally not considered peak cyclone season in most parts of the world, these two cyclones were both record-breaking and resulted in extensive damages. Your $15 monthly donation in support of #15YearsOfAirlink ensures we are ready to respond to severe weather occurrences no matter the time of year https://lnkd.in/dy8kFfS

This week—five years ago—the World Health Organization declared #COVID19 a global pandemic. This response would mark two major milestones for Airlink as: our first global program following the Ebola response in 2014, as well as the first air freight response in the U.S. Responding to the pandemic would bring about many more “firsts,” including welcoming on board a number of new Airlink partners like the The Salvation Army. In May 2020, we partnered to fly 150,000 masks to New York City's JFK airport from Guanazhou, China. The masks were distributed amongst Salvation Army frontline personnel ensuring staff and volunteers could continue to deliver food, shelter, and emotional and spiritual assistance to vulnerable communities. In total, Airlink reached 17.9 million people with healthcare services and supplies during the pandemic through partnerships and shipments like this one. Fleeing from violence means losing everything built over a lifetime. In the Dali camp, North Darfur, thousands of displaced families live in uncertainty, forced to face daily challenges in finding safe shelter, protection, and clean water. To address the most urgent needs, INTERSOS and its partner Hope are distributing essential supplies, provided by ShelterBox and delivered by Airlink, Inc., such as kitchen kits, blankets, jerry cans, and mosquito nets. Alda Cappelletti, Senior Humanitarian Advisor, shares insights on this largely overlooked emergency and explains how we are responding to support those who have lost everything.

Fourteen years ago, #Japan was changed forever when the most powerful earthquake in the country's history, followed by a deadly tsunami, brought sweeping destruction.?? ? The Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami claimed over 19,000 lives and resulted in long-term challenges including impacts to nuclear plants. Airlink responded immediately to get aid supplies and assistance to the most-affected regions, and we were pleased to work with Hawaiian Airlines and JetBlue.?? ? Together, we flew 30 relief workers to Japan on behalf of All Hands and Hearts, Airline Ambassadors International (AAI), and The Eagle Wings Foundation to collect needs assessments, establish aid distribution networks in remote areas, and provide 25 shipping containers of hundreds of thousands of relief goods.?? ? We were grateful to receive donated transport from UPS, allowing us to move 200 ShelterBoxes from ShelterBox to bring shelter and basic amenities to a portion of the hundreds of thousands made homeless through evacuations and building damage. ShelterBox would later commit nearly 1,400 more ShelterBoxes to families through the end of April 2011.? ? Also known as the Great East Japan Earthquake, this mega-disaster would inform lessons learned regarding infrastructure resilience, disaster-risk reduction, preparedness, and more. Our hearts are with communities in Japan and around the world who are honoring and remembering the lives impacted by this tragic event.?? ? Take a look back at our response https://lnkd.in/eQpZpkJx?

Shipment news! Thanks to the generous support of the Airbus Foundation, Airlink has coordinated the delivery of over 23 tons of critical shelter and non-food items, medical supplies, and essential medicines to West Darfur, Sudan on behalf of our partner INTERSOS - Humanitarian Organization. These items donated and made possible by ShelterBox and action medeor e.V., are already providing populations in North Darfur who have been displaced by the ongoing conflict with urgent, life-saving aid. Over 1,500 households in North Darfur have received shelter and non-food items, and health facilities across West Darfur will soon receive critical supplies and medicines as well. Airlink overcame significant access barriers to move this shipment, working with multiple partners and SEKO Logistics to make it possible for this cargo to travel more than 6,000 miles by air and land from Germany, UAE, and Chad. It marks the beginning of a new global alliance between Airlink, INTERSOS, ShelterBox, and Action Medeor to provide a multisector, integrated humanitarian response to ensure the provision of health, protection and shelter/NFI services in Sudan.

Airlink is proud to support #women and girls around the world whose lives are disproportionately affected by humanitarian crises and disasters due to gender-specific barriers and inequalities. We continue to respond to the humanitarian crisis in Haiti which has caused massive displacement for women and girls, who make up the majority of the displaced population. They face significant risks to their health, safety, and dignity while also lacking access to basic hygiene supplies. On behalf of Food For The Poor, Airlink has coordinated the airlift of women's care kits containing essential hygiene and nutritional supplies. FFTP Haiti, in collaboration with local partners, were able to subsequently reach 1,920 women and girls to help them both physically and emotionally. On #InternationalWomensDay, learn more about how Airlink and our NGO partners are providing comprehensive support to women living through crisis https://airlinkflight.org/ and consider a $15 monthly donation to Airlink to support woman and girls. #IWD2025
