During July and August, the ANG, along with a diverse coalition of military personnel from the US Marine Corps and international partners, engaged in a challenging joint-force training, called Toxic Swell, on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. This two week ANG Deployment for Training (DFT) exercise enhances Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) defense capabilities while also strengthening the interoperability and readiness of U.S. forces in the Indo-Pacific region. Over 50 military personnel participated in Toxic Swell, including ANG units, Marine Wing Support Squadron 174 CBRN Defense Section, PACAF active-duty personnel, and reserve components from the 4th Air Force. This diverse team comprised of different branches and international partners, including the Australian Defense Force, emphasizes our ability to operate as a cohesive unit in real-world scenarios. This year, Toxic Swell had an increased focus on hands-on training, including the integration of combat tactics into operations, and the implementation of Agile Combat Employment (ACE) related tactics, techniques, and procedures. Read the full article below to learn more about how Toxic Swell contributes to amplifying the capabilities of our forces and aids in fortifying the partnerships that are vital to operating effectively in the Pacific. https://lnkd.in/e3Nsk7Yx

Today marks the 23rd anniversary of the September 11th attacks, which claimed nearly 3,000 lives and left countless others injured. In the face of overwhelming tragedy, first responders courageously rushed into danger, sacrificing themselves to save others. The events of 9/11 remain a powerful reminder for all Americans of the importance of resilience and the duty to stand up for our freedoms in the face of adversity. As we reflect on this day, we honor the lives lost, the survivors, and the families forever changed. We will never forget the bravery of those who answered the call on that fateful day and commit ourselves to preventing a tragedy like this from happening again. And to our Engineers who responded in the days, weeks, and years that followed these attacks, we extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering commitment to our nation.

USAF Airmen from the 31 and 100 CES worked alongside the Estonian Air Force with NATO Allies and Partners during an Expeditionary Airfield Damage Repair Agile Combat Employment exercise at Amari AB, Estonia. Exercises like these emphasize the importance of collaboration, therefore improving resiliency and survivability of coalition airpower. This joint integration promoted mutually beneficial learning opportunities and long-term relationships, while also bolstering critical infrastructure defense to enable airpower anytime, anywhere.
