Robot Rodeo Rewind ?? The National Robot Rodeo (NRR) is a unique event that brings military and public bomb squad members together to explore emerging robotics technology that enhances overall safety and mission readiness. During this event in Valparaiso, Indiana, the bomb squad community put innovation to the test and assessed the robot’s abilities to perform EOD tasks in a diverse set of scenarios designed to replicate commonly encountered threats across the nation. As part of this event, 10 teams also had the ability to compete against each other to evaluate their skills and competencies with these new, exciting technologies. Check out this video to learn more about how the USAF is implementing innovation to optimize Airmen safety and successfully prepare for the future fight.

Civil Engineers, we need your help! In the coming days, you will receive a request to participate in a competency matrix analysis for Air Force CE Officers. This matrix is critical for defining the skills, knowledge, and behaviors essential to the success of CE Officers, both within our enterprise and across the Air Force, now and into the future. The competencies have been developed by a select group of high-performing CE Officers with diverse backgrounds and expertise. Their analysis covers a range of areas, including technical skills, leadership, and communication. To ensure these competencies are as relevant and effective as possible, we need your feedback. Your input will be crucial in refining this process over the next six months. Please take the time to complete the survey—your participation will help shape the future development of CE Officers and strengthen our ability to Lead the Way in the face of Great Power Competition. Thank you for your commitment to the CE community! The survey will come from?[email protected].

Operation Honey Badger ???? October 20-25, 2024, at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, 11 Civil Engineer Air Force specialties came together to test and hone their skills while operating in an austere environment during Operation Honey Badger. Organized by the 87th Civil Engineer Squadron, Operation Honey Badger reflected the shift in focus towards the Pacific in the era of Great Power Competition. Airmen were tasked to confront an enemy in a jungle environment, create and maintain helicopter landing zones, man defensive fighting positions, and operate heavy equipment to level the intended runway. “Our intent is to continue conducting and improving field training exercises such as these on a semi-annual basis; by training how we fight, we can continue sharpening our skills and adjust to anything that comes our way,” said TSgt Moises Gonzalez, 87th EOD, logistics chief. “Members from all Air Force specialty codes and ranks stepped up during this exercise, and we could not be prouder of all they accomplished.” To learn more about Operation Honey Badger, visit the link below: https://lnkd.in/e8cgbwe3 USAF story & photos by SrA Aidan Thompson #MissionReadyAirmen #AirForceCE #AirmenEngineers #EOD #USAF USAF Civil Engineer
