Moon mission awaits! ?? Teams at the NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida have began connecting the European Service Module 3 - providing propulsion, thermal control, and electrical power - to the crew module adapter ??? The service module - built by Airbus for European Space Agency - ESA - will carry four NASA astronauts to the Moon’s south polar region for the #Artemis III mission. The ESM will play a critical role in supporting the astronauts during their mission ??: from the moment they leave Earth, their journey into lunar orbit, docking with the lunar landing system Starship HLS, and their safe return to Earth. ???? The last flight of a pioneer: after having been vital to advancing aerial refuelling, the A310 Multi Role Tanker Transport is going into retirement. 18 years and 350 flights later, the flying test-bed that paved the way to automatic air-to-air refuelling of the #A330MRTT and enabled countless in-house innovative projects at Airbus will be replaced by a soon to be converted A330-200. Since its maiden flight in 1974, the Tornado has been an unparalleled success story: ?? 1,000 Tornados built ? 3 million flight hours? ???????????????? user nations This made the Tornado the first major European combat aircraft programme, paving the way for current European defense programmes, including the #EurofighterTyphoon and the Future Combat Air System (#FCAS). The legacy of the Tornado will live on in both. Today's anniversary celebration in Manching saw the fly-by of a German and Italian Tornado in special livery.
