Attention Pet Travelers! ???? If you or your clients are traveling with dogs and plan to return to the U.S. on or after August 1, 2024, here’s what you need to know! ?? The CDC, USDA, and U.S. Customs are tightening regulations for dogs entering the U.S. starting August 1st. Requirements for pups RE-ENTERING the U.S.: ? Must be at least 6 months old. ? Must have an ISO-compatible microchip. ? Complete the new CDC IMPORT FORM online and show the submission receipt at customs. ? Must have a Pet Health Certificate from the U.S. (country of origin). For dogs returning from high-risk rabies countries: ? Need a U.S.-issued Rabies Vaccination form from the USDA-accredited vet who gave the vaccine. The vaccine MUST be valid upon re-entry. ? Or use a USDA-endorsed export health certificate for re-entry during the transition period until July 31, 2025. Starting August 1st, only six designated ports will accept dogs from high-risk rabies countries. ??Before you go: Whether returning from low or high-risk rabies countries, Air Animal recommends obtaining a U.S.-issued Rabies Vaccination form from your USDA-accredited vet along with your U.S. Pet Health Certificate. Regulation changes happen, so we want to ensure your furry friend has a smooth, safe return! ??Before you return: Get your documents ready and complete your CDC Import form. Safe travels!??
