The scene is set... It's 1973, and Air Wisconsin purchased three Swearingen Metroliner aircraft, aka "Metros." This was fit to become a corporate aircraft, with new engines to fit flying in the regional industry. Due to its sleek profile, many passengers and crew could not stand upright in the cabin. Air Wisconsin flew the metros for 10 years until 1983.

Meet the Beech! In May 1968, Air Wisconsin acquired a new aircraft type, the 15-passenger Beechcraft B-99, and a route expansion that included Detroit, MI, and Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN; Kankakee, IL; and Milwaukee and Wausau, WI. We flew this aircraft until 1976.
