On the 23rd anniversary of September 11, 2001, we remember those who lost their lives. You are never forgotten. In remembrance, AFRL will hold a memorial ceremony and the annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb hosted by our Sensors Directorate team. We invite you to join us in a "virtual" climb to pay tribute to FDNY firefighters by climbing or walking the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. #WeRemember911 | #NeverForget

Groundbreaking for our new Re-Entry Vehicle Integration Laboratory! The REVIL facility will serve AFRL’s Nuclear Mission branch and provide a state-of-the-art lab space for integrating test units for next-generation re-entry vehicle research and technology. The lab will be located at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico. Col. Jeremy Raley, director of AFRL’s Space Vehicles Directorate, emphasized the strategic importance of REVIL in maintaining the United States' nuclear deterrence capabilities. “Our nation has historically relied on our ability to maintain credible deterrence, and REVIL is a key part of that as we move forward,” Raley said. "We have the nation’s brightest innovators and visionaries working at AFRL. This facility will give them the infrastructure they deserve and will allow them to collaborate with scientists and engineers that intimately understand the space vehicles mission, communicate that mission to industry and move it forward.” Learn more: https://lnkd.in/g7t5fpqD #AFRL | #AFResearchLab | #AirForce | #SpaceForce

"My name is Col Kate Todorov, AFRL Director of Staff. I choose to serve as an Air Force officer because I am driven by a deep sense of duty, patriotism, and the desire to protect the ideals of justice, freedom, and democracy. Growing up in a military family often instills a lifelong respect for service and leadership. My dad served and knowing what he did to protect and serve our nation inspired me to do the same—the chance to be part of something greater than oneself—to know that what I do makes a difference." #AFResearchlab | #WhyIServe

F-15 human performance on long-duration missions ?? AFRL's 711th Human Performance Wing recently collected human performance data on 53rd Wing F-15EX/E aircrew during the Bamboo Eagle 24-3 exercise. A typical F-15 sortie lasts a few hours, but the extended missions provided insights into how prolonged flights affect aircrew performance. The missions, each lasting about 10 hours in duration, involved four separate sorties totaling nearly two days of continuous data collection. This extended testing helps refine procedures for managing long-duration operations and enhances aircrew readiness for potential conflicts in the Indo-Pacific region.
