????Better fuel for our human weapon systems is on the way to legacy dining facilities across the United States Air Force, thanks to efforts led by the Air Force Services team. The menu change will deliver healthier options and more variety, bringing the DAF more in line with the United States Department of Defense'Go for Green' program. Legacy dining facilities are operated by #Airmen, in contrast to Food 2.0 facilities which are operated by contracted agency partners. AFSVC teams centrally design the legacy DFACs menus versus Food 2.0 operations that have menus designed and marketed by industry partners. Legacy facility teams are authorized to make local changes to add variety and regional flair. This is a big win for our warfighter readiness! ?????Kudos to the 23 small business selected to apply for funding through a Program Year 2025.1 Strategic Funding Increase (STRATFI) annual notice of opportunity. STRATFI helps businesses move from prototype to full scale productions by providing between $3 million and $15 million per project to scale innovations for operational use. By connecting private-sector innovators, defense stakeholders, and investors, STRATFI strengthens the defense industrial base and accelerates the transition of advanced capabilities to the warfighter. ??????It's a 'micro' idea with HUGE #power impacts for warfighters! Our Air Force Sustainment Center's Tech. Sgt. Anthony Bennett is a finalist in this year's United States Air Force Spark Tank competition, pitching a game-changing Advanced Tactical Microgrid idea for expeditionary warfighter needs....essentially 'keeping the lights on.' The current downrange power supply relies on a series of generators that run simultaneously to power warfighter shelters. When one generator fails, all must go down to enable repairs on the system. Bennett's idea leverages a #microgrid in which all generators could be linked, enabling the cycling of power where systems come on or ofline depending on demand. This would not only provide for greater reliability, it could result in energy savings as well. Great idea, #Airman, and best of luck in the finals! ??A new Air Force Life Cycle Management Center offload contract will help keep T-38 Talons in the sky and mission ready. The T-38 Talon Repair, Inspection and Maintenance (TRIM) Contract will return T-38s in maintenance to the warfighter quicker and more efficiently. The TRIM program is a structural modification initiative focused on inspecting and replacing key components of the T-38 aircraft; by upgrading structures, TRIM modifications extend the aircraft’s operational life by an additional 5-10 years. ???#Character is at the core of #leadership, and creating strong leaders for the future means educating them on the critical nature of this was at the heart of the United States Air Force Academy's National Character and Leadership Symposium. Senior leaders from the Department of the Air Force were on hand to share insights on leadership, focusing on warfighter ethos and lethality as critical to our success in dominating the future fight. Developing and ensuring a culture focused on the service values is at the core of what it takes to win. "The values and principles at the height of this warrior culture—this warrior ethos—are courage, commitment and sacrifice…integrity and trust. Those are the things we must value…those are the things we must develop," said CSAF Gen. David Allvin. The Art of #Possible is making many things possible at our Air Force Sustainment Center Air Logistics Complexes. AoP is a constraint-based management system designed to drive focus on efficient process execution. The system establishes a standardized set of operating principles and was established as the universal management system at AFSC in 2012. It merges process improvement theories such as Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, Lean and more into a singular system designed to drive positive change across mission areas. Russell teaches the Art of the Possible 402 Course at the University of Oklahoma Rainbolt Graduate School of business in Oklahoma City. Attendees learned about the AFSC business model and management system, which is designed to create leaders who are committed and equipped to implement AoP within their organizations, empowering and engaging non-supervisory personnel to become data driven decision-makers and problem-solvers.
