Air Force Junior ROTC is a Title 10-mandated citizenship training program that's designed to educate high school students in citizenship and to promote community service, personal responsibility, character, and self-discipline. The program achieves these objectives through classroom education in air and space fundamentals as well as hands-on learning opportunities in a number of fun and challenging co-curricular activities. The Air Force Junior ROTC program is grounded in the Air Force core values of “integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do.” The program has more than 820 Air Force Junior ROTC units in high schools world-wide. There are more than 80,000 high school cadets in the program and more than 1,500 instructors who lead, mentor, guide, and teach our cadets in high schools in the U.S. and around the world. We need instructors and are always hiring! We currently have 230+ instructor vacancies available.

AFJROTC…a bridge to character development. It was NOT an ordinary day in class for some of our cadets who took it up a notch on our CIA (Curriculum in Action) trip, working to build camaraderie, teamwork, and resiliency at the U.S. National Whitewater Center! Together, they problem solved and navigated some of the toughest obstacles out there, while building trust and confidence. From communicating together to solve land obstacles, to whitewater rafting class II-IV rapids, practicing water survival from capsized rafts, overcoming fears on the high ropes courses, mountain biking, or having courage to leap from up 100ft tower. Today was a team-building adventure and I’m proud of everyone for challenging themselves. #CharacterDevelopment #TeamworkMakesTheDreamWork

One of the many invaluable aspects of serving as an Air Force Junior ROTC instructor is sharing in the continuing journey and success of the cadets you've helped mentor and inspire. At least four of our instructors were on hand to commission or render first salutes to their former cadets at the United States Air Force Academy graduation this week.
