How the Air Force is experimenting with AI-enabled tech for battle management. As advancements in #artificial_intelligence capabilities proliferate, the United States Air Force is using a series of capstone events in 2025 to serve as a proving ground for how the #technology can be incorporated into future battle management operations. Led by the 805th Combat Training Squadron at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, the biannual capstone allows the service to test new tech and assess their applicability for battle management and tactical command and control. After a successful iteration at the end of last year, the unit is poised to continue experimentation and rapid development of new capabilities and concepts to support the United States Department of Defense’s Combined Joint All Domain Command and Control (#CJADC2) effort throughout the next year. Space Force teaming with Air Force on Joint Simulation Environment. For the past year, the United States Space Force has been working closely with the United States Air Force and Navy to learn from their experience developing an advanced, realistic training and testing environment for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter - with an eye on one day creating a similar capability for the #space #domain. Col. Corey Klopstein, program executive officer for?Operational Test and Training Infrastructure?at Space Systems Command, said his team started discussions last year with the Air Force’s Advanced Training Capabilities Division about how the Space Force could be involved with the effort, known as the Joint Simulation Environment. The Space Force has since joined the #JSE user group and is working with the program office to find ways to bring space capabilities into the #simulation environment and eventually develop an advanced #test and #training capability of its own. WATCH THE VIDEO: "Going Deeper on the Significance of Space #Warfighting" #Space superiority?emerged as a major theme?of the?Air Force Association (#AFA) Warfare Symposium this year, but something many are still learning about. So, if you missed AFA this year, you can still check out this video interview with retired Space Force Col. Jennifer Reeves (now a senior fellow with the The Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies) to go deeper on the significance of that theme and what it means for the United States Space Force. How #USAF and #USSF Force Generation Models Overlap: ‘You Can’t Part Time Warfare.’ How #Airmen and #Guardians prepare for and perform operations may be very different, but the Air Force and Space Force’s models for generating those forces aren’t all that dissimilar in their focus on readiness and teamwork, leaders said March 5 at the #AFA Warfare Symposium. “As different as the models may be, there’s different terms, there’s a lot of commonality in the models,” Lt. Gen. David N. Miller Jr., head of Space Operations Command, said. “You’ve got to be threat-informed. You got to be tied into the operational planning requirements, and have your mission-essential tasks, and you’ve got to be synchronized as a team and presented as an entire unit as opposed to piecemeal. You can’t part time warfare. It’s a full-time thing.” Read the full story https://lnkd.in/gEwqy2Gw United States Air Force #AFFORGEN United States Space Force #SPAFORGEN? JSE Will Revolutionize F-35 Training at Nellis in 2025. Where Is the Technology Headed Next? F-35 pilots at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada will begin training in the U.S. Air Force’s?most hyper-realistic #battlespace #simulator ever?this year - when the Joint Simulation Environment (#JSE) reaches initial operational capability at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center Nellis (#JITTC-N). But Nellis and the F-35 are just phase one of the United States Air Force’s revolutionary #training #technology, which will dramatically change the way warfighters prepare for combat. AFAMS Commander Anthony “ABC” Graham spoke this week at the IDGA?Military Simulation Training Summit?here in #Orlando. While Col. Graham’s speech focused on “Improving interoperability within the United States Air Force,” the conference itself showcased the evolution of simulation and simulated training across our U.S. military branches and our #NATO nation defense partners. Some of the big focuses this year were how simulated training is pushing militaries across the world to leverage data for training, advancing competency-based training, and preparing to respond to modern day threats, especially since simulated training, including synthetic training and Live Virtual Constructive training, isn’t limited to one specific training situation. Our #AFAMS team that attended this year enjoyed the opportunity to meet and talk with #DoD, industry, and other NATO nation defense experts who were attending to discuss our way forward to best support all of our Warfighter’s training using the latest and best M&S technologies. ? Included is a video of a short part of Col. Graham’s speech at the event.
