86-year-old Shlomo Margalit helped found Kibbutz Nir Oz, growing up with many community members since childhood. On October 7, he spent 12 hours locked in his safe room as terrorists tried to kill him and his wife. It was a miracle they survived. This is his story.

It was a privilege to host such an accomplished group of leaders from the finance community, united by a shared commitment to strengthening the U.S.-Israel relationship. I had the honor of interviewing two champions of the U.S.-Israel relationship, Congressmen Ritchie Torres (D-NY) and Mike Lawler (R-NY). They provided insightful bipartisan perspectives on the critical importance of the U.S.-Israel alliance, offering thought-provoking observations into the current dynamics in the Middle East and Washington. A special thanks to all our attendees and our Vice Chair Committee for making this event a success. Conversations like these underscore the enduring bipartisan foundation of the U.S.-Israel relationship and inspire us to continue our work together.

This week, the U.S. Senate overwhelmingly rejected three resolutions led by Bernie Sanders to block vital weapons sales to the Jewish state as it fights to protect its families from Iran and its terrorist proxies. The majority of Senate Democrats and Senate Republicans have again demonstrated profound American support for our ally and rejected the dangerous efforts to weaken Israel and undermine the U.S.-Israel relationship. Less than 24 hours later, the International Criminal Court (ICC) announced arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on baseless and outrageous charges of “war crimes” and “crimes against humanity.” With this decision, the ICC has reached a new low in its morally bankrupt and politically motivated attacks against the Jewish state. AIPAC commends the U.S. Senate for standing with Israel and overwhelmingly rejecting proposed bans on critical weapons sales to the Jewish state as it fights to protect its families from Iran and its terrorist proxies. We applaud the Biden administration for approving these sales and helping ensure Israel has the resources it needs to win. ? The majority of Senate Democrats and Senate Republicans again demonstrated profound American support for our ally and rejected the dangerous efforts by Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and his allies to weaken Israel and undermine the U.S.-Israel relationship.? ? The Jewish state is on the front lines of the fight against common enemies. These arms sales help strengthen our ally, deter further Iranian aggression, and create American jobs.
