It’s been a full house for an insightful morning at the #LCRTalkingBusiness conference. Katherine Fairclough, Chief Executive, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority opened the day by setting out the priorities for the Liverpool City Region over the coming years followed by Mayor Steve Rotheram who outlined his ambitions for sustainable inclusive growth across the region. Our first panel chaired by Ruth Hartnoll, deputy chair of the Liverpool City Region Business and Enterprise Board and CEO of Matchstick Creative - Cert B Corp focused on Good Business Growth. Ruth was joined by Rachael Baker, Managing Director at JJ Smith & Co (Woodworking Machinery) Ltd, Simon Lewis, Partner at Brabners and Heather Tomlinson, Founder of Treaty Pie UK who shared their stories of how they have incorporated good business practices into their own companies. Great to see so many people in the room are already taking steps to embed good growth principals into their own business growth plans.?Keep an eye out for the Good Business Guidelines which will be launching next month if this is something you are interested in incorporating into your plans. Kate Downes, Assistant Director - Evidence, Research & Intelligence at Liverpool City Region Combined Authority gave an update on creating a competitive Liverpool City Region economy and our region’s relative strengths and challenges and what we can do to improve our productivity to create opportunities for all of our residents. For our final panel of the morning Ruth was joined by Alison Lacy, Location Manager Liverpool at Avalanche Studios Group, Paalan Sood, Founder of Sood Marketing & Mama Soods and Utubakwu M. Ushie Ushie, Founder & CEO of Thalasic Ltd. The panel shared their insights on why Liverpool City Region is an ideal location to establish and grow a business.
